About the role – Permanent Part-Time (Multiple Positions | PM Passive Shifts)
As a Child and Youth Support Worker with Baptist Care SA, you’ll provide safe, trauma-informed care to children and young people living in residential homes. You’ll help create a warm, stable “home” environment while supporting daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education and life skills. Working alongside a supportive team, you’ll build strong, trusting relationships and play a hands-on role in helping young people heal, grow and move toward a positive future. Our rostering approach offers staff genuine flexibility and input into their preferred working patterns, while also requiring participation in a fair rotation of PM sleepover shifts as part of the role.
About you:
You’re a compassionate, reliable and resilient person who thrives in a team environment and stays calm under pressure. You bring a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to your work, with the ability to build trusting relationships and set clear, consistent boundaries. You’re organised, adaptable and confident working both independently and collaboratively, with a genuine commitment to helping children and young people feel safe, valued and supported to reach their potential.
You will also have the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Youth Work, or Disability.
- Experience working with vulnerable and at-risk children, young people and adults with special needs, disability and/or challenging behaviours.
- Demonstrated ability and experience to work within a team environment.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
Why work with us?
