Developmental Educator


About the Role – Part-Time (0.4-0.8 FTE Negotiable) | Fixed Term Until June 2026

As a Developmental Educator (DE) with Baptist Care SA, you’ll empower people with disability to build skills, increase independence, and improve their quality of life. Using evidence-based assessment and planning, you’ll deliver functional skill development and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), working closely with clients, families, and support teams. In this role, we are seeking a DE with PBS experience to work with people across the lifespan with varying needs and capacities. You’ll also provide training, contribute to service innovation, and help strengthen person-centred practice across our Disability Pathways team.

About you:

You are a compassionate and skilled professional with experience in developmental education and knowledge of, and willingness to provide, Positive Behaviour Support services. You thrive in collaborative environments, build strong relationships with clients and families, and adapt strategies to meet individual needs. Reflective, proactive, and committed to growth, you are passionate about helping people with disability achieve the best possible outcomes.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

  • A Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education or equivalent qualification
  • Current membership with Developmental Educators Australia Inc (or an equivalent professional body)
  • Previous experience as a Developmental Educator or a similar role.
  • Previous experience working with people with disability with high complex needs.
  • Experience in the development of positive behaviour support plans and strategies.
