Food Hub Coordinator - Westcare Centre

About the role – Maximum term Part-time 0.6FTE until June 2026 (with the option of extending)

The Food Hub Coordinator leads the daily operations of our low-cost food and essentials store located at Baptist Care SA’s Inner City site. You'll support people experiencing disadvantage—including those with disability, mental health challenges, or facing homelessness—by running a safe, dignified and community-led service.

You’ll supervise up to 6 volunteers per day, manage stock levels, and create a warm, inclusive space for our clients.

Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Coordinating up to 6 Volunteers per day including workload and shared responsibilities and ensuring that the viability of the shop is kept at a high standard, whilst diligently serving the people we are targeting
  • Monitor stock levels and track trends of stock that is in demand by clients and adjust accordingly
  • Train and equip volunteer team to execute tasks at hand through hands on feedback and supervision
  • Participate in the overall volunteer strategy of Inner City in partnership with the Inner-City Management team

You will also have the following skills and experience:

  • Diploma qualifications or Certificate 4 in Community Services with substantial years of relevant experience
  • Evidence of successful experience in leading and supervising a volunteer team
  • Previous work experience in retail
  • Demonstrated ability to understand service and program compliance in a community services environment

Specific Requirements:

You will be required to have, or be willing to obtain: 

  • Full unrestricted South Australia Driver’s Licence 
  • A current and valid DHS: Child-Related Employment Screening/WWCC  
  • National Police Clearance as per the Background Screening Check Policy
  • Training: Provide First Aid (HLTAID012)
  • Training: Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes)
