Grounds and Maintenance Officer
About the role – Max Term Full Time for 12 Months Located in the Adelaide Hills
The Grounds & Maintenance Officer plays a key role in supporting the operations of Baptist Care SA’s Adventure Campsites by ensuring all grounds, facilities, vehicles, and equipment are maintained to a high standard through scheduled maintenance, inspections, and timely repairs. The role focuses on safety, compliance, and effective record-keeping, while working both independently and collaboratively to provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for guests and support the goals of the Adventure Pathways program.
Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Performing scheduled maintenance, inspections, and timely repairs on all campsite grounds, facilities, vehicles, and equipment.
- Undertake general grounds and property maintenance including landscaping, mowing, gardening, minor building repairs, and upkeep of outdoor areas.
- Responding promptly to unexpected issues such as breakages or failures to ensure uninterrupted campsite operations.
- Coordinating with contractors and other staff to complete maintenance tasks to a high standard.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance requests, inspections, and completed work in line with compliance requirements.
About you:
You are a practical and reliable individual with strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to maintenance tasks. You take pride in your work, have a keen eye for detail, and are committed to maintaining safe, clean, and functional environments. With strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, you are proactive in managing your workload and align with the values and mission of Baptist Care SA.
You will also have the following skills and experience:
- Year 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience as a handyperson and/or maintaining a facility in a similar context.
- Working knowledge of safe work practices and risk management practices and standards.
- Evidence of well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to maintain systems, processes and records for compliance.
