Horse Riding Instructor
About the role – Casual
Join Baptist Care SA as a Casual Horse Riding Instructor at Wirraway Homestead in Strathalbyn, South Australia. Wirraway is a countryside camp and outdoor activity centre providing young people with hands-on experiences in nature and adventure. You will lead safe and engaging riding sessions, care for horses, support volunteers, and maintain high safety and welfare standards, all while working in a collaborative, team-focused environment in a beautiful rural setting.
About you:
You are a skilled horse rider with a passion for working with young people. You enjoy teaching and mentoring, communicate well, and can manage horses and riders safely. Reliable, adaptable, and team-oriented, you focus on horse welfare and creating positive, memorable experiences in an outdoor setting.
You will also have the following skills and experience:
- Accredited Horse Riding Instructor (Horse Safety Australia)
- Highly proficient at riding and working with horses
- Strong group facilitation
- Working with children and horses in a horse arena environment
- An appreciation of and high-level interest in horse activities for young people
