Occupational Therapist
About the role – Max Term Part Time until 30/06/26
Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for a dynamic, innovative role with no billable hours? Focus on supporting vulnerable individuals, delivering meaningful interventions, and making a real impact within a block-funded, values-driven program.
At Baptist Care SA’s WestCare Centre, you’ll make a real difference for people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage. You’ll provide person-centred, trauma-informed care, helping clients access health and social services, develop life skills, and improve their independence and wellbeing. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll assess needs, deliver tailored interventions, complete functional assessments and connect clients with the resources they need, contributing to stronger community pathways and better health outcomes.
This is a 0.4 FTE role, with work on Wednesdays. Staff can choose either Tuesday or Thursday as their second day. The position runs until 30 June 2026, with the possibility of a 12-month extension.
About you:
You are a compassionate and adaptable Occupational Therapist with strong interpersonal and communication skills. You build trust with clients from diverse backgrounds, deliver person-centred, trauma-informed, culturally responsive care, and connect people with the services they need. You work well both independently and in a multidisciplinary team, and you are motivated by making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals.
You will also have the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency
- Proactively engages highly vulnerable clients to assess functional limitations and individual needs.
- Identifies supports and barriers to occupational performance, ensuring timely and effective intervention.
- Experience collaborating with external stakeholders and using flexible, professional approaches to support client access to services.
