Onsite Social Work Placement Supervisor


About the role – Maximum Term Part Time 0.8FTE Monday to Thursday

As the Onsite Social Work Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in growing the next generation of social workers. Reporting to the Manager, Inner City & WestCare Centre, you’ll supervise Flinders University Social Work students completing their 500-hour placements across Baptist Care SA programs. You’ll provide a mix of individual and group supervision, ensure academic requirements are met, foster a positive Student Hub culture, and collaborate with staff to champion the value of student placements.

About you:

You’re a passionate and qualified Social Worker with at least two years of experience, confident in your practice and excited to support emerging professionals as they grow. You thrive in fast-paced, people-focused environments and bring warmth, resilience and strong communication to every interaction.

Most importantly, you’re purpose-driven and committed to walking alongside those facing homelessness and hardship, while helping create an empowering and respectful student placement experience.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

  • Must hold a recognised social work degree (with eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers)
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a Social Work position
  • Experience in supervising students is beneficial
