Senior Payroll Officer


About the role – Maximum Term Full Time Contract until Jan 2027

The Senior Payroll Officer oversees the end-to-end fortnightly payroll for the organisation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high-quality data. You’ll be the go to payroll expert, supporting managers and staff, handling complex matters, and working with the Payroll Lead to improve processes and strengthen payroll systems.

About you:

You’re an experienced payroll professional who loves getting the details right and being the go-to expert for managers, employees, and your team. Confident with complex calculations, legislation, and industrial instruments, you take pride in accurate, compliant payroll delivery. You enjoy supporting others, solving tricky issues, and working collaboratively to keep processes running smoothly. Most of all, you bring a calm, proactive approach and a genuine commitment to great service.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

  • Qualifications at Diploma level will be viewed favourably (but not essential)
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in payroll functions
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of processing medium to large payroll from beginning to end
  • Knowledge and understanding of the SCHADS award
