Youth Support Worker - Pathways to Home


About the role – Casual  

The Residential Youth Support Worker plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of a residential facility supporting vulnerable and at-risk young people. You will provide practical and personal support, promote independence, and assist with developing essential living skills. The role focuses on building positive, professional relationships, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and supporting young people to achieve the goals outlined in their Care Plans and Program objectives within a trauma-informed framework.

About you:

You are compassionate, reliable and comfortable working with vulnerable young people. You build respectful relationships, communicate clearly and work well within a team. You are culturally aware, maintain professional boundaries, and are committed to supporting young people in a safe and inclusive environment.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

  • Certificate 4 in Child, Youth and Family Interventions, Youth Work, Community Services, or related field.
  • Previous experience in working with vulnerable and at-risk young people
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people and communities in the provision of support services
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse people, LGBTQIA+ and communities and other marginalised groups in the provision of support services
  • Ability to practice appropriate level therapeutic interventions
